Field Botany

This course will enhance student understanding of the taxonomy and ecology of species that compose our flora in western Pennsylvania. Students will be introduced to approximately 300 species of western Pennsylvania flora and will become familiar the various plant/lichen/fungal life cycles and physical structures.  Students will be trained to generate a personal herbarium (a plant collection) of some of the plant species they encounter.
