The PLE housing site provides researchers with a variety of housing options while in residence. These include bunkhouse-style dorms, apartments and cabins. Additionally, PLE has a house located at our Sanctuary Lake Site (Sanctuary Lake House) that researchers can use for stays..
- All of these housing options provide residents with kitchen and bath facilities.
- Residents do have the option of eating meals at our dining hall from mid-May to the end of July (details can be found on the Station Fees page).
- Residents have access to laundry facilities on site. There is no cost...just bring your own laundry soap!
- Residents need to bring their own sheets, blankets, pillows and toweling. Contact us at pymlab@pitt.edu if you need to know the size of the mattress in your assigned housing unit.
- Guests who may have special housing needs are encouraged to contact PLE staff as early as possible to discuss options. While our facilities have some limitations, our goal is to be as accommodating as possible for our guests.
Pictures of our common facilities (dining hall, rec hall, etc.) as well as examples of each housing type can be found below.
